Hyundai to show-off its Mobile Eccentric Droid and Boston Dynamics’ Spot over at CES 2022

Hyundai Motor Company will present its future vision for robotics and the metaverse at CES 2022, with the main theme of ‘Expanding Human Reach.’ The company’s CES press event will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, 2F Oceanside D, on January 4, 2022, from 3:00-3:45 p.m. PST. The event will be streamed live on the company’s YouTube channel as well (Link).

At CES 2022, Hyundai Motor will show how its robotics business will drive the paradigm shift toward future mobility, going beyond traditional modes of transportation and fulfilling humanity’s desire for limitless mobility.

Hyundai Motor will present its view of how robotics can complete the metaverse by integrating the virtual world with reality as a medium, and eventually overcome the physical restrictions of mobility in terms of time and space, under the major topic of ‘Expanding Human Reach.’

Hyundai Motor will also demonstrate its new PnD (Plug & Drive) robotic module platform as part of the new Movement of Things (MoT) concept, which promises to provide mobility in anything from traditionally lifeless objects to community spaces.

Visitors to the company’s exposition booth at CES 2022 will be able to see how robots can increase mobility in the real world and get a peek of the future robotics society, which will enable movement between the virtual and real worlds.

The company will also show off their robot range, which includes the Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED), as well as Boston Dynamics’ Spot® and AtlasTM robots. Hyundai Motor’s display booth in West Hall #5818 at the Las Vegas Convention Center will also feature robotics demos and dance performance activities from January 5-8.

Here are the key take-away points:

    • Hyundai Motor will present its future vision for robotics and the metaverse under the theme ‘Expanding Human Reach,’ based on its concept of a future mobility ecosystem Mobility of Things (MoT), which allows for the autonomous movement of traditionally inanimate objects using the company’s robotics technology.
    • Presentations should also represent the company’s goal of realizing mankind’s dream of unrestricted mobility by using robots to connect the actual world and the metaverse.
    • From January 5-8, visitors to the booth will be able to explore the company’s leading robotics technology as well as its vision for robotics and virtual reality.
