Lyon FC has disclosed in a statement that they are banning their fans from attending the away games. After the incidents that involved their fans which eventually led their match against Paris FC suspended, Lyon FC initiated this action.
The game was ongoing at Stade Charlety. Both the teams scored each goal however, the result was undecided and not even considered as drawn after the incident happened. Lyon FC or regarded as OL, who competed in the Ligue 1, the highest football division of France, are currently in the 13th position of the points table.
The trouble caused by the Crowd
The crowd caused unavoidable trouble which consisted of flares being thrown and there were pitch invasions as well. The match ultimately got abandoned after half-time and sources state that Lyon FC as a consequence will be sanctioned with an exclusion from the Coupe de France.
Lyon FC is justified on their side regarding banning their fans in their away games, concerning this violent incident caused by them. The club will certainly face the consequences with the reason which were caused by their fans.
Further actions from Lyon FC
The club Lyon FC has indicated that their actions will assume all of its responsibilities that it has eventually filled with a formal complaint. The security of the Ligue 1 club is now on work in identifying the perpetrators. The club will apply sanctions with much determination and force which can even include lifetime bans for some specific fans.
Until that time till the perpetrators are cleared up, the group of Lyon fans will not be allowed to travel or attend further away games of Lyon FC. The club might not be able to play their next match against Metz with a positive mindset on December 23 but will still look forward to giving their 100% on the play.
