Tecno has announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the Tecno POP 5C. This device will be targeted towards the budget segment and should be available in some of the markets in the world in the near future.
The Tecno POP 5 features a 5” IPS LCD that brings along a 854 x 480 pixels screen resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It also has a 2 megapixels front-facing camera that handles selfie and video calls. Around the back of the phone, there’s a rectangular shape camera module which houses a single 5 megapixels camera and a LED flash to help with low-light photography.
Under the hood, the Tecno POP 5C is powered by a quad-core Unisoc SC7731E chipset which is paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the device draws power from a modest 2,400mAh battery which doesn’t come with any form of fast-charging support. On the software side, it’ll be shipped with Android 10 Go Edition out of the box. Providing the interface is the rather outdated Android 10 Go Edition and we are certain the device isn’t lined up for any update going by Tecno’s precedence in the delivery of software updates to its smartphone.
Tecno is yet to announce the price of the Pop 5C but we expect the price to placate for the disappointing hardware and design. Whenever it goes on sale, the Pop 5C will be available in Lake Blue and Dark Blue colors.
