India gets eliminated from the T20 World Cup!

Team India gets eliminated from the T20 World Cup after Afghanistan faces a defeat against the Kiwis at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Sunday. India’s condition of being alive or elimination fully depended on the Afghans, where they had to win the match, however, the New Zealand cricket team was too good in front of them. The Kiwis picked up their victory against Afghanistan by 8 wickets with 11 balls left.

    The Match

The dreams of 130 crores were focused on the match where the Indians truly wanted Afghanistan to win the game for India not to get eliminated from the tournament. If New Zealand have lost this match, their points would be stuck at 6, and India had to win their last game with a high run rate to qualify for the finals which was very much possible. However, the Kiwis didn’t let their fans down and earned the victory with ease.

Afghanistan initially won the toss and batted first. No batsman could stand for long except Najibullah Zadran who scored 73 of 28 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. With the help of Zadran Afghanistan managed to get a total of 124 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Trent Boult did a brilliant job for his team taking 3 wickets in 4 overs conceding 17 runs and was given the man of the match award.

The Kiwis easily chased down the target in 18.1 overs, with Martin Guptill scoring 28 of 23, Daryl Mitchell scoring 17 of 12, Kane Williamson scoring 40 of 42 balls and Devon Conway scoring 36 of 32 balls.

Team India out of the tournament

With this defeat of the Afghans against the Kiwis, India got eliminated from the World Cup and their dreams to win the world cup for the second time in history got shattered. They will next lock horns with Namibia at the Dubai International Stadium. Though there is no fight for finals left, certainly the fight for respect is there. Team India will indeed give their best in their last match of the world cup to come home with respect.
