The upcoming season of the Indian Super League is all set to kick off on November 19, 2021. As days are getting closer, practices for the league are at their peak, players have been swapped, and new coaches have also come into being in ISL. As per reports, there will be six new head coaches for the eighth edition of the league. Check out which are those six new head coaches and for which teams in the sections below.
Marco Pezzaiuoli for Bengaluru FC
Marco Pezzaiuoli will be seen as the head coach for the upcoming season of Bengaluru FC. Pezzaiuoli has vast experience as he has worked with Germany’s development teams from U15 to U18. Moreover, the current head coach of the Blues believes in an attacking approach which will greatly help footballers like Lars Bender and Toni Kroos to develop.
Des Buckingham for Mumbai City
One of the great advantages that Mumbai City FC will have in their upcoming season is having Des Buckingham as their head coach. He has plenty of experience in the world of football and has also made Melbourne City champions of the A-league double as an assistant manager last season. Buckingham will be looking forward to setting up a particular system to get habituated with these conditions as well as the players.
Bozidar Bandovic for Chennaiyin FC
Chennaiyin FC has been the champions of the ISL on a couple of occasions and for the upcoming campaign they have put their faith in Bozidar Bandovic. Bozidar has been in this field for more than 15 years and has handled teams like Olympiacos, and Buriram United. Also with the latter one, he was won two league titles, which he will surely want to repeat with his current team.
Ivan Vukomanovic for Kerala Blasters
Ivan Vukomanovic will be seen as the head coach of Kerala Blasters in their upcoming campaign of 2021-22. Kerala didn’t have a good season last year, finishing 10th on the points table. The Siberian coach will be looking forward to bettering their position, who bears plenty of experience formerly coaching teams like Slovakia, Belgium, and Cyprus.
Manolo Diaz for SC East Bengal
SC East Bengal after having some hard times, finally managed to play the ISL, whose coach would be Manolo Diaz from Spain this season. Diaz previously worked at Real Madrid Castilla and took care of the youth development there for years. He will also be aiming to better East Bengal’s position last year, who is also on the list of having an off-time in the previous ISL edition.
Kiko Ramirez for Odisha FC
Kiko Ramirez will be seen as the head coach for the 2021-22 ISL season for Odisha FC. The Spaniard will assist in bringing possession-based philosophy to the club and will play a great role in succeeding players from the team like Victor Mongol and Hector Rodas. It is only a matter of time, to see what happens in the next season.
