Pakistan picked up their first win against India in the t20 WC among the ICC tournaments. They defeated India by 10 wickets, with 13 balls in hand at the Dubai international stadium and it was indeed an extraordinary sort of performance by Pakistan.
India versus Pakistan has always been a big match event, as these two share one of the biggest rivalries in the game of cricket. Earlier India dominated Pakistan in every ICC tournament including ODI World Cup, and T20 World Cup, but Pakistan broke the record of their losing streak against India.
Initially, Pakistan won the toss and fielded first. It was a very good start by Pakistan, as Shaheen Afridi got both their openers soon, including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, in the scores of 0 and 3 respectively. Though Virat Kohli handled the job, scoring 57 of 49 with 5 fours and a six.
Also, Suryakumar decreased the pressure by hitting a six and a four. Rishabh Pant coming at number 5, scored a good partnership with Virat Kohli, with his score of 39 of 30 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. India finished at 151 for the loss of 7 wickets.
In reply, both the openers of Pakistan were very much dominating on the Indian bowlers. Pakistan didn’t lose a single wicket, where both their openers, including Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam scored 79 of 55 balls and 68 of 52 balls, respectively. With their incredible performance in batting, they chased down their score of 152 with the loss of zero wickets in 17.5 overs. Shaheen Afridi was awarded the man of the match for his excellent performacne, by dismissing Rohit, Rahul and Kohli.
Focus of India on the T20 World Cup!
Though in the battle of India and Pakistan both the players and the fans of the respective nations have a desire to win. But the fact remains that the focus should be always set to win the cup and not in a particular match. India has their upcoming match against another tough competitor, New Zealand, where they will look forward to giving their best and picking up their first win of the tournament.
