    Last Wednesday was the deadline to pick the tenders for the new IPL teams. As it has been concluded, the contender list seems to have expanded with the inclusion of Bollywood star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. They seemed to have joined the list and are backed by a big Indian business family.

As it has been concluded, the contender list seems to have expanded with the inclusion of Bollywood star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. They seemed to have joined the list and are backed by a big Indian business family.

    Reportedly, there are some high-profile names on the list for buying new IPL teams. Former Formula 1 owner CVC Partners, Manchester United Owners have shown their interests alongside the Jindal Steel. The auction for new Indian Premier League teams is set to take place on October 25th. IPL’s connection with the glamour world of Bollywood isn’t a new story. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan jointly owns Kolkata Knight Riders with Juhi Chawla. Preity Zinta happens to be the owner of Punjab Kings. A new entry to this list would make the scenario much more interesting!

    Sports isn’t a new Connection to the star couple

    Connections with sports are not a new thing to the glamorous couple. Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone is a former Badminton player. Ranveer is engaged with the English Premier League. Moreover, he is also the brand ambassador for the NBA, the world’s most popular basketball league.

    Almost 17-18 contenders have bought the tenders at prices of INR 10 lakhs. Now the process of document submission shall continue. The steep base price for the teams has been kept at INR 2000, crore. One of the BCCI officials has expressed his surprise considering the vehement interest shown to buy the new teams. He said that the response has been even better than expected and the price might go up as high as 3500 crores for each team!

    This 25th is surely going to be interesting. Let’s see which big names make it to the ultimate!
