Intel Core i7-12700K could be the next mid-range gaming champion

The Silicon giant was subdued for the last few years by the uprising of AMD in the computing market, however, finally in 2021, we could see things change. Intel’s CEO Pat Gelsinger is already sure that 12th Gen Alder Lake can totally outcast AMD’s top-of-the-line Ryzen 5000 series processors.

It looks positive from Intel’s point of view as the early benchmark leaks also suggest that Intel will snatch the gaming crown back from AMD. Even though the Intel Core i7-12700K CPU comes with 12 cores/20 threads which are just shy of fewer cores than the monstrous Core i9-12900K with up to 16 cores and 24 threads.

A CPU-Z screenshot has been shared by @TUM_APISAK, claims that it will become another 12th Gen Alder Lake CPU to score more than 800 points in a single-threaded test. As we primarily know, games rely heavily on single-core scores and so previously AMD cross the 600 range of CPU-Z and give amazing gaming performance.

So, it’s completely understood that if game developers properly optimize their games with Intel processors for the new Windows 11, these 12th Gen Intel Core processors will bring back the lost glory. Surprisingly, the upcoming Intel Core i7-12700K model with only four ‘Efficient’ cores reaches 9423 points in multi-core test while the current best-selling CPU in the market, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X scores 9500 points.

Obviously, these scores are not official and not the most favourable or accurate as we know nothing about the test system, so do not take this too seriously, however, for sure, Intel is coming back really strong this time. Well, you won’t have to wait long to know the pricing, official specs and performance as Intel will launch six SKUs on October 28th.
