Portugal Boss, Fernando Santos Reiterates That Man United Uses Cristiano Ronaldo Incorrectly

Fernando Santos, who happens to be the National team manager of Portugal insisted that Manchester United has isn’ using the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo correctly. Santos feels the five-time Ballon d’Or award winner should be starting every game.

Santos raised concern over Ronaldo’s playing time after Solskjaer dropped him against the match with Everton. He joined in the second half, and the match ended with a draw at 1-1.

Before Portugal collided with Qatar in a friendly match on Saturday night, Santos had said that Ronaldo will be going to the game against Qatar because he needs playing time. He further added that getting that game is significant for Ronaldo at this stage. The Portugal national team manager even talked about his thoughts regarding Ronaldo playing against Luxembourg only.

He also stated that if Ronaldo only plays against Luxembourg he will be practically left with 15 days without playing with much intensity. That’s why Ronaldo has a high chance to be playing against Qatar either from the starting or coming early in the second half. Santos feels this will help to have a strong competitive rhythm in the game against Luxembourg.

Portugal Registers 2-0 win against Qatar

Santos kept his word. In the friendly encounter against Qatar, the 36-year old Portuguese star opened the scoring and the World Cup hosts lost to Portugal at 0-2. Cristiano Ronaldo has been in phenomenal form ever since his return to his old club Man United. Out of his total six appearances in all competitions, he has delivered 5 spectacular goals. Ronaldo is the key reason the club is a top favorite for the trophy at the end of the season.
