Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated RR with ease by 7 wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Monday. The orange army is primarily out of the tournament with no chances to qualify for the playoffs, but still, they showed their class as they fight for respect is still left.
RR batted first and put up a score of 164 with the loss of 5 wickets. RR’s youngster opener Jaiswal scored a good knock of 36 of 23 balls. Also, Sanju Samson played an excellent innings scoring 82 of 57 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. In the lower middle order no one was able to score much but Mahipal Lomror with a knock of 29 of 28 balls.
In reply, SRH chased down the target with ease with 7 wickets and 9 balls left. It was more or less a team game from the orange army where 5 batsmen played a good knock. At first, Jason Roy who came in the team in the place of David Warner scored 60 of 42, and his fellow opener Wriddhiman Saha played a good cameo of 18 of 11.
Next, Williamson and Abhishek Sharma got the charge of the business. They both performed well where the captain scored 51 of 41, and Sharma scored 21 of 16.
Will RR qualify for the playoffs?
With this defeat of the Rajasthan Royals, their road to playoffs has become very tough now. They are in the 6th position of the playoffs with 8 points. They have 4 games left and all these 4 games are a do-or-die match for them. Even still it is not assured that with 16 points they will be qualifying for the playoffs or not. In that case, the equation of run-rate would come.
