Bengaluru United and Sevilla FC united got nominated for the World Football Summit Award

Sevilla FC and Bengaluru United are reportedly nominated for the World Football Summit Award. The ceremony will be conducted at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid on September 22nd. The India football club and the Spanish La Liga franchise are one the nominees for this honorable achievement. Also, La Liga’s Valencia CF and Everton FC from Premier League are on this list.

On the upcoming 9th September, the winner for the Best Internationalisation Strategy award will be given. This trophy is presented by Deloitte, and the trophy will be received during the WFS Europe one-day ceremony at Wanda Metropolitano of Madrid, on 22nd September.

The growth of Bengaluru United

Bengaluru United has been in a robust growth trajectory since its inception in 2018, which is both on and off the field. They showed their excellent performance in the I-League qualifiers in the last year, i.e., 2020. Also, they emerged victoriously in the BDFA Super Division League Champions.

In this process of growth, Bengaluru also got the opportunity to play in the Durand Cup, which is considered the oldest football tournament in Asia. This will begin from the first week of September, in Kolkata with some of the top football clubs of the nation.

Earlier this year, Bengaluru FC disclosed their partnership with the Spanish La Liga giants, Sevilla FC, in a five-year agreement. They said that this deal would focus on technological development and innovation and various sports projects. Also, it would assist in the Spanish football club’s footprint globally in the rapidly growing football markets.

He also added that their partnership with the La Liga giants Sevilla FC marked a vital milestone in a unique way that the football world can grow more and expand its horizons.
