Premier League club Liverpool’s right-winger Mohamed Salah wants a huge pay rise in the new long term contract offered by Liverpool. According to Mirror, Salah is demanding an eye-watering salary from Liverpool.
According to the report, Mohammed Salah is demanding a salary of £500,000 per week. In his current contract, he earns around £200,000 per week. This means he wants a pay rise of £300,000 in his new contract.
The Liverpool right-winger has two years left in his current contract. But, Liverpool will ensure that he will wear the red shirt for a long time.
If Liverpool accepts the pay rise of the Egyptian then this will be the new club record contract as no one receives a salary of £500,000 per week in Liverpool. However, according to the report, no breakthrough has been made in the talks and Salah’s demands are by far the boldest following Liverpool’s successful attempt to tie down Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Jordan Henderson.
If he leaves Liverpool at the end of his contract, he would depart at the age of 31, though an earlier departure is likely if Liverpool can’t agree with new terms.
Mohammed Salah is playing a key role in Liverpool and the 29-year-old has proven his worth of importance at Anfield because of the Champions League win and Liverpool’s first-ever Premier League title after 30 years of waiting.
Liverpool will have to spend £15million per year for Mohamed Salah and this is a question for Liverpool whether the money spent on the 29-year-old is good or not. The report claims that Liverpool are willing to offer Mohamed Salah a standard pay rise, but they are not willing to pay anywhere near £500,000-per-week.
