Barca isn’t going through a decent time in terms of finance at present. A few days back, they had to let go of the superstar Lionel Messi owing to the ongoing financial crisis. Their entry to the season’s opening weekend has not been good either. The club couldn’t sign some new players because of the wage restrictions.
However, there’s good news inside the club. Before the opener against Real Sociedad, the club could sign Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia, and Rwy Manaj. Thanks to Gerard Pique who acknowledged a pay cut to let the club sign these players.
The Club Statement
According to the statement, FC Barcelona was able to sign Memphis, Eric Garcia, and Manaj to participate in the LaLiga. The statement further read it could only be possible as the agreement with Gerard Pique went well and he agreed to take a reduced salary.
A further addition to the statement revealed the club is working to adjust the salaries of two other captains Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba as per the present situation. Both the players are ready to cooperate too. The statement further stated, the club got several sales and loans concerning the senior squad. It signifies it is alright to register all the players for the start of the 2021/22 season.
Jean-Clair Todibo was transferred to OGc Nice for eight million euros, Leeds United signed Junior GoPro for 15 million. Wolverhampton Wanderers loaned Trincao for 6 million. Carles Alena registered for Getafe for five million, Konrad De la Fuente shook hands with Olympique Marseille for 3.5 million. Additionally, Matheus Fernandes’ contract came to an end too.
New Players Signed!
The previous week reports came up stating Pique was ready to take a pay cut to keep Messi. Unfortunately, it was too late. However, the star defender agreed to receive a pay cut to help the club sign the brilliant players.
