Statement by PV Sindhu
Sindhu told the BWF website that though her opponent was lower-ranked, she didn’t want to assume that the game would be easy. She set her focus and got used to the court.
She also said that it is important to play all your strokes and get used to it on the court, itself. This is because you can’t play those strokes all of a sudden, against an opponent who is quite strong. It is necessary to judge yourself that your strokes are either going well or not.
Sindhu’s overall performance in the match
PV Sindhu started her campaign on this event on a high note on Sunday. Not only she defeated Ksenia Polikarpova in straight games, but she also finished the game in just 28 minutes. The badminton queen presented her level best in the match, and her opponent stood no chance. After winning the first game, by 21-7, Sindhu didn’t even allow Polikarpova to come back and continued to strike the shuttlecock well.
Sindhu’s record in Olympic
PV will probably try to better herself gradually. This started first when she won the silver medal in the 2016 Olympics. In this season, she has started amazingly, and it is expected that India will get its first gold medal from her only.
In this regard, Sindhu said that there are huge responsibilities as well as pressure now. Last time in 2016, she was not even a known person. Now people are looking at her game and said that this is not going to be easy.
