Lionel Messi is one of the greatest ever footballers who have graced the football field. The Argentine has played for Barcelona since his childhood and La Liga has been his home.
Messi and Ronaldo both lit up the Spanish top-flight league for 9 years before Ronaldo left for Juventus in 2018. After Ronaldo’s departure, La Liga lost some of its glamour but Messi was still there to keep the league at the top.
However, that can change quickly as Barcelona are facing a dire financial situation which is making it tough for them to re-sign Messi after his contract ended on 30th June.
It has now been reported that many of the elite La Liga clubs’ Presidents are willing to help Barcelona financially to sign Messi so that the little magician stays in La Liga.
There have been mixed reactions after this news came out. Many have nodded their consent while others have pointed that no player is bigger than the club and league.
