Jio Platforms said on Tuesday that it will implement Dutch chipmaker NXP Semiconductors’ series of multicore processors. Moreover, this would be used in its 5G New Radio (NR) ORAN small cell solution. This will support the new RAN network. They will also achieve a wide range of 5G through partnerships. More importantly, it will increase broadband access to cases, as well as Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Jio Platforms, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), said it has leveraged NXP’s Layerscape processors in its new 5G NR solution.
The new “5G radio solutions require flexibility in platform functions, efficiency and a wealth of tools, and NXP provides them. Jio Platforms and NXP have developed the most advanced radio products that are compliant with 3GPP standards and PRAY. The company has a history of working closely with NXP.
