Cristiano Ronaldo in the quest for new records at the EURO 2020!

The Portuguese legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, is in the run for hunting a new record at the EURO 2020. He is already on his fifth European Championship campaign, in his overall career, and lots of records are waiting for him in this tournament.

Statement of Cristiano Ronaldo

Portugal came up against Hungary, this Tuesday. It was the first game of Group F, where the Portuguese striker, was frantically desirous. He even stated before the match that he came to this European Championship as it was for the first time, and I feel more motivated than I was in 2004.

Cristiano also said that they are the champions and will fight and try their level best to lift the trophy again. He is not obsessed with the records which he can break. For him the best record will be lifting the EURO 2020 trophy twice in a row – he added.

Records yet to be broken!

Many records as mentioned, were broken by Ronaldo in Portugal versus Hungary match, but some are yet to break. Cristiano Ronaldo is currently sharing the place of winning most victories at a European Championship, with Andres Iniesta, and Cesc Fabregas.

And last, but not least, Sergio Ramos is the European player with 180 appearances for his country, the highest in terms of caps. Ronaldo is sitting on 175, and he is likely to take that position from Ramos soon.
