Apple asks employees to return to office from September

Apple asks employees to return to the office for three days per week from September, this year. How does Apple justify the need to get back to the conventional office style amidst this coronavirus pandemic?

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook is asking most of the company workers to return to the office. He wants them to do the above on the following three days of the week- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Apple has consented to the option of allowing the employees to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Firstly, Apple released a memo that stated the above strategy would be put to action starting early September. The tech empire will begin to reopen its headquarters and other offices internationally. Secondly, Mr. Tim Cook said that most office staff and personnel will be asked to arrive at the office physically.

Most importantly, Apple groups and departments that need to handle tasks and goals in person will be invited to join the office for four-five days a week. This was reported on Wednesday by many sources.

Why does Apple want to take this step?

For all that Apple has been able to achieve while many of the employees have been separated, the truth is that there has been something truly and essentially missing from the past year due to the pandemic

Cook emphasizes the fact that the company had been separated for too long in an email that he had sent to the employees. Last year, video conferencing, online meetings, and calling via phone has helped narrow the huge gap. However, the distance between the workers and the company is growing to be sure. There are things that simply cannot be replicate remotely.

However, my take on this is very different from Apple. During the pandemic, many other companies like Microsoft face the same hardships. The other companies are encouraging their staff to work from home. In this Covid 19 crisis, we should try to maintain social distancing as much as possible.
