Carlo Ancelloti opens up after accepting the Real Madrid job

After Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid this summer, the Spanish giants have now turned to one of their former coaches, Carlo Ancelotti, who was currently managing Premier League club Everton.

Carlo Ancelotti won the La Decima with Real Madrid, and the supporters will hope that he will once again take the team to the pinnacle of European football by winning the Champions League.

During his first stint at the Bernabeu, Ancelotti led Real Madrid to their record of consecutive wins – 22 – and won 74.7 % of the games. The winning run started after losing to Atletico Madrid on 13th September 2014 until their defeat against Valencia on 4th January 2015.

Another impressing thing is that Real Madrid scored 80 goals and conceded just 10 until that defeat in the Valencia match. So the Real Madrid board would be hoping that he would emulate the same kind of success this time as well.

Ancelotti, who joined Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract in December 2019, said: “I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the players, and the Evertonians for the tremendous support they have all given me during my time at the Club.”

“I have complete respect for everyone associated with Everton and hope they can achieve the exciting opportunities they have in front of them.”

“While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time.”
