Barcelona are set to announce the arrival of Unai Hernandez from Girona. The 17-year-old will be joining their youth team, upon completing his transfer. A full agreement is in place between the two clubs for the transfer and an official announcement will be made once the formalities have been completed.
The teenager will be the latest addition to the squad in a busy summer for the club. He has only played one game for Girona, but has made a name for himself in the local footballing circle. And now, he has the chance to earn a spot at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Unai Hernandez to join Barcelona
The Girona academy graduate mainly plays as a central midfielder, but he also has the ability to play a more advanced role. He only had one year remaining on his deal, and had to be sold as a result.
Upon agreeing personal terms with Barcelona, it is only a matter of time before he links up with the youth team. Unai Hernandez will follow Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha as new signings for the Catalonian side.
The right-footed midfielder doesn’t boast of a big physical presence, but as we have seen before, that can play a very little part in determining how good a player turns out to be.
