On May 23, Xbox Cloud Gaming will expand its library with the addition of 15 new titles. Xbox Cloud Gaming is in beta right now and works as a perk for Game Pass Ultimate members to play games streamed from the cloud. This functionality can be used to play games on consoles and computers, and it also provides gameplay on mobiles through the Xbox app. It’s long been touted as a benefit of the Ultimate tier, with new games added monthly. The most recent addition was announced in a post on Xbox Wire, which also covered other Game Pass arrivals coming in the remaining days of May.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands on May 23 with 15 New Titles Including Brütal Legend and Classic Remasters
A significant chunk of the additions this month belong to Double Fine Productions, a studio that Microsoft purchased in 2019. Brütal Legend is the headliner, a cult hit that combined heavy metal and real-time strategy in a unique way for an action game. And then there’s Costume Quest 2, as well as remakes of three revered adventure games, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, and Grim Fandango. These are critically acclaimed games for their narrative and humor, and are now more accessible for cloud streaming.
In addition to Double Fine’s games, a handful of Xbox-published and third-party games have been added to the service. Those include Rare Replay, a compilation of Rare games old and new; sci-fi shooter Quantum Break, featuring live-action elements from developer Remedy; and Sunset Overdrive, the wild, hyperactive action game from Insomniac.
Other games in the lineup include Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, Neon Abyss, ScreamRide, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, SteamWorld Dig 2, Super Lucky’s Tale, and Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection. With these additions, Xbox Cloud Gaming continues to grow, offering Game Pass Ultimate members a diverse library of titles that can be played on a range of devices without needing to download or install them.
